Three teams from St John’s Catholic School for the Deaf competed in a large football tournament held in Derby recently.
The boys and girls’ teams made the trip from Boston Spa to Derby to take part in the event, which saw multiple teams battle it out to win the top prize.
While the teams didn’t manage to bring back the title, there was still plenty to cheer about as one of the St John’s groups made it all the way to the semi-finals.
Head of PE Kate Pirie said: “The teams were fantastic and worked really hard. The enthusiasm shown by all the boys and girls was outstanding and it was fantastic to see their hard work rewarded with a semi-final place.
“Football forms an important part of our PE curriculum and everyone really enjoyed the event.”
