Red, White and Blue Day
On Friday 10th October, children and teachers from St John’s School, took part in ‘Red, White and Blue Day’, national campaign to raise money and awareness of the three Armed Forces charities. Wearing the patriotic colours of red, white and blue, the students were raising money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity and the RAF Benevolent Fund, who provide a full range of care for all generations of the Armed Forces family. ‘Red, White and Blue Day’ is a national campaign run annually by the three official Service charities, supported by the three Services themselves. It’s an opportunity to highlight the work of the Armed Forces and the difficulties their families face.
Sixth form student Louis organised the day and ran an assembly raising almost £50 which the school has topped up to £100 for this very worth cause. Thanks to everyone who took part.
