Under rather stormy skies, work has finally started on our new sensory garden. We are turning a rather dull, unloved piece of grass into an exciting sensory space, where children and young people can learn and enjoy the world around them through the use of all the senses. We are starting off by laying the sensory pathways – these will allow access for everyone, and will be built from materials with contrasting textures and colours.
This project has been made possible by generous grants and donations from a number of sources. We would also like to thank local artist and garden designer Jan Bulley who managed to pull together everyone’s fantastic ideas into a coherent plan.
